This year we chose a location that perfectly fits the feel of old time Christmas Fun at the Hamilton Mansion in Ripley, NY! This Victorian Mansion was built in 1873. Indoor Victorian Christmas- Pajama & Cocoa Portraits

Our Indoor Christmas Portrait Sessions will be hosted on November 21 and 22 at the Hamilton Mansion located at 69 W. Main St, Ripley, NY 14775. Our theme will be Pajamas & Cocoa. Your family will be invited to arrive in fun matching pajamas (or your most cheerful holiday style) and snuggle up in front of a real working fireplace to enjoy some fresh cookies & hot cocoa while our photography team captures the magic for your Christmas Cards and gifts. Sessions will be 20 minutes long and are good for up to 6 people. If you have more than 6 people we can still accomodate you with 2 back to back sessions!

Outdoor- It’s the Most Wonderful Christmas

Celebrate an Old Fashioned Victorian Christmas with snow covered trees, festive lights, and frosty noses while you enjoy holiday music and piping hot chocolate and Santa’s favorite cookies! We will hold our Outdoor Christmas Portrait Sessions on December 5 and 6 in the outside yard at the Victorian Hamilton Mansion located at 69 W. Main St, Ripley, NY 14775. Sessions will be 20 minutes long and are good for up to 6 people. Don’t worry if you have a larger group. We’re happy to accomodate you with 2 back to back sessions so everyone has a chance to enjoy the magic! Was that Jack Frost I just saw?

CHRISTMAS FAMILY SESSION: Our Family Photo Session provides up to a full hour of photography magic at the location of your choosing. Capture the memories right in your family living room or pick a location that your family traditionally includes in their holiday celebrations!
CHRISTMAS PAJAMAS & COCOA: We’ll be offering an indoor Christmas Mini Shoot in an indoor location. You bring the matching pajamas and smiles. We’ll supply the hot cocoa, cookies and a professional photographer to capture the magic!

What Should You Expect for your Holiday Photos

1- Christmas & Holiday Scenery- We will be decorated with all the trim and cheer you would expect to see at a festive venue. Expect twinkling lights, lots of warm fuzzy blankets, toasty fireplaces, pine trees, and it the weather permits-snow!

2- Professional Photographer- Our team combines decades of experience working in both the studio and on location. We’ve experienced it all. We understand the creative, technical, and most importantly people side of capturing amazing Christmas Memories.

3- Photo Delivery- You’ll receive images in accordance with the Holiday Session & Package you booked, along with the ability to purchase other items from your personal online store linked directly to your gallery!

6- What to Wear- You should dress according to the Christmas Photo Option you selected. If you chose our Outdoor Tree Farm Fun option dress warm as the weather in our area is unpredictable. Same rule applies if you chose a Christmas Family Photo Session at a location of your choosing. If you opted for our Indoor Christma Mini Session have fun with your attire! We’re themed Pajamas & Cocoa this year. Wear matching PJ’s or dress your family in complimenting winter attire to set the mood. Remember not to mix-match too many different clothing patterns as it can be distracting in your images.

What to Wear to a Fall Family Pictures

Fall is all about bundling up in lots of layers, enjoying the shift from hot to cool, and soaking up the sun and autumn foliage. Here are a few tips for choosing outfits for your fall family session:

Choose colors that won’t clash too much with the fall leaves. Instead, stick with a neutral palette with colors that blend seamlessly into autumn’s spectrum: earthy reds, burnt oranges, creamy nude, etc.
Layer up! Don’t hesitate to throw on those scarves, cardigans, blazers, or hats.
Wear shoes that fit the season. Think riding boots or comfy, fur-lined boots. Loafers and flats can also work just fine.

Dressing For a Fall Family Session

What to Wear for Your Fall Family Pictures? This guide will help you choose; the best colors to wear for your fall pictures and give you inspiration on family color schemes. Look FABULOUS for your fall family photos!

WHAT TO WEAR FOR FALL FAMILY PICTURES

1- Fall colors such as darker shades of purple, yellow, orange, navy, tan, and to top it off with a denim top is the cherry on top for us! Food for thought, If you know your environment and background, try to pick colors that complement not match that way you pop from the surrounding.

2- Don’t Match! When the entire family matches EXACTLY, it takes away from each individual’s awesomeness that makes the family Unique. But for each one to have a color that ties into the next one. So if dad wants to wear his favorite orange and blue plaid shirt, mom should choose a solid top for herself and the child(ren) and add pops of color that also tie back into dad’s shirt or add more depth to the style. An excellent accessory might be an orange scarf or necklace on top of a tank top or a navy/orange bow for a child wearing a solid dress, etc.… just items to tie the overall look completely together.

3- Style Make sure to keep the overall look one STYLE, such as dress casual. You don’t want to have one person wearing super casual clothing, while the rest of the family is wearing church attire. Plan your clothing well before the session date, keep the weather in mind and ask your photographer what he/she thinks of the things you picked out!

4-Texture and layering is a good thing and, when used appropriately, can add dimension to your photos. A cute scarf or knit cardigan over a simple shirt can add some character to your look. Watch out for items that make you look bulky or weighed down; fitted clothing is better.

5- Base Color, i.e., Black, grey, denim, brown to help keep everyone grounded. Then add in two or three fun pops of color so everyone can add their style to the outfit. Make sure to switch up the base through your outfit, so you don’t have everyone in jeans and two different shirt colors. Put girls in dresses or tunics with tights. Have the guys wear your base color on top and choose a second base for them to wear on the bottom. Mix and match but make it fun. The goal is not for everyone to synced up perfectly. You want to be able to see a pattern when you take the photo as a whole.

6- Accessories can go a long way, and when used to make a unique statement, they make the person wearing them feel fabulous! A fun watch or cuff on mom, dad’s stylish tie, cute laced boots on your toddler, or an adorable sparkle headband on the baby can add a pop to the image. Try and make sure everyone has something about their outfit that makes them want to smile the whole time the camera is snapping!

This year has brought many changes and challenges into our lives and that includes how we do school. Back to School Pictures in Erie Pa celebrate your student’s acheivements no matter what school looks like this year. Because so many students are now learning remotely through cyber, virtual, or home school options we decided to expand to meet your needs.

That’s why we are now offering Back to School Pictures that are convenient, fun, and safe!

How are our Back to School Pictures Different?

We all know what we can expect from Back to School Pictures. Your child’s hair is a mess, they’ve slopped BBQ or Pizza sauce on their new sweater, and they look like something from the exorcist because they are uncomfortable. Who wants to be shuffled into a hot, sticky auditoreum with 30 other kids and stand in front of a person you’ve never met who’s desperate to make you smile?

So, you open the school’s picture order form and have to pay ahead of time for a photo that you’re pretty sure from experience is not going to be the most flattering memory of your child. What if we could change that?

Our Photo Session allow you to be with your child. You’ll bring them in and be present to they feel comfortable. No food stains or crazy Pippy Longstocking hair surprises. No anticipation of not knowing what’s coming.

Picking Your Poses

Is there really an option for Back to School Pictures in Erie PA that lets you pick your favorite poses? Of course! That’s the biggest benefit of our portrait option! Our photographers will be set to take up to 10 poses of each student that will be uploaded to an online gallery after they are edited for best quality. You’ll be sent the link to view your child’s pictures before you decide which one you like the best!

The Back to School Photos will be broken down into a sitting fee and a picture package separately with the pricing surprisingly being close to the traditional school options. Sitting fee for a student is only $20, with additional family members receiving a 25% discount. That makes each additional sitting fee only $15. Students MUST live in the same household to take advantage of this discount.

Picture Package prices begin at only $9. We added our package prices with the session fee and found our prices were actually less than the school’s prices! Now that’s a value!!

Back to School Picture Bonuses

HOW TO CREATE A MOODBOARD

Creating personalized photography and cinematography requires that we understand your personalities, your preferences, your hobbies, and your relationship. To help us get to know you, we need you to create a “moodboard.”

So what is a Moodboard?

A moodboard is simply an idea or inspiration board on which couples display their favorite images. Couples add images and videos to their moodboard to visually communicate aspects of their style preferences.

For example, you might love the angle or composition, a specific pose, the type of lighting, the style of post-production or any other component of the photograph or video highlight. Your board allows our entire team, from the photographers and cinematographers all the way to the post producers, album designers, and video editors to get on the same page and clearly understand your preferences.

Moodboard vs Shot List

A Mood board is NOT a “shot list.” A “shot list” is a detailed list of must-have shots for the photographer to follow and check off throughout the wedding day. This type of checklist is discouraged, as it inhibits a photographer’s creativity and focuses his or her attention on duplicating and recreating, rather than innovating and originating.

How to Create a Moodboard for Photography

Create a Pinterest account (or sign into your existing account)
Create a Board called “Wedding Moodboard” (Be sure to leave it as public)
Visit the Erie Photography and Erie Wedding & Event Services Pinterest pages. “Pin” images that you like, making sure you add a detailed description of why you like the image. The majority of your images should come from Erie Photography’s work.
Add in a few more images that you like from around the web (along with descriptive captions).
Once complete, send the Mood-board URL to our studio management
After reviewing the moodboard, we will set up a conference call with you and your photographer to review the moodboard together and to review the details of the event.
